Joseph Gregory Hoover, age 72 of Chadbourn, died on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

Gregory was born on October 22, 1947, in Columbus County, to the late Franklin Jasper and Juanita Mercer Hoover.

Gregory was employed by Georgia Pacific in Whiteville, as a supervisor for 33 years, from which he retired in 2009.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery; Rev. Buddy Seay will officiate. 

To cherish his memory, Gregory leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Sharon Fluharty Hoover of the home; children, Joseph Gregory Hoover, Jr. (Tracy) of Clyo, GA, Christy Lynn Hoover of Holden Beach, Hannah Hoover Hinson (Lee) of Chadbourn; sister, Carol H. Stevens (Rudy) of Wilson; grandchildren, Cynthia Anderson (Lars), Bradley Hoover, Andrew Hoover, Tripp Hinson; great-grandchildren, Abbye , Elaina, Dalton, and Ethan.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Klondyke Fire & Rescue, Chadbourn, NC 28431.
