Elizabethtown woman is 16th road death here

A blue lightbar

Sabrina Troy of Elizabethtown was killed Monday when her automobile went out of control on Chanceytown Road.

Troy — who would have turned 21 next month — went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed the road and struck a ditch. Her 2007 Honda overturned, Trooper G. Hammond of the Highway Patrol said.

Speed was not a factor in the wreck, which occurred near Ben Jones Road between Buckhead and Lake Waccamaw.

Troy was the 16th person to die on county roads this year. The last road death occurred after a Hallsboro man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Sept. 1.
