Christopher Scott Deans, 24, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin, sale and delivery, maintaining a vehicle for drug activities, and misdemeanor child abuse, jail report show. He is being held under $2,027,500 secured bond.

The sheriff’s office reported that citizen complaints led to an undercover operation in the Sandy Ridge area. Several purchases were allegedly made from Deans, and on at least one occasion, a toddler was in the car with him and potentially exposed to the narcotics.

He was arrested by Whiteville Police on warrants filed by the sheriff’s office.
