Lake issues boil water alert

Water coming out of the faucet

The Town of Lake Waccamaw is reporting a water leak on Canal Cove Road.

Due to the leak, bacteria may be introduced into the water system causing the Town to issue a Boil Water Advisory. Consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This advisory is issued from 2600 Canal Cove Road to the end of Waccamaw Shores. It does not included Wooded Acres Subdivision and is in effect until further notification is issued.
