A Whiteville Police officer escaped serious injury after her cruiser was struck by another vehicle Tuesday night.

The WPD reports that Officer Brionna Wright was struck by a delivery van. The driver of the van did not sustain any injuries. The van reportedly failed to stop at a stoplight on Tram Road. The police cruiser was demolished.

On her personal social media page, Wright thanked Whiteville Rescue and Whiteville Fire for their assistance in the wreck. Wright said she was a bit stiff, but otherwise nit seriously hurt.

Because a law enforcement vehicle was involved, the Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
