The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office requests the assistance of the public in locating a large cast iron church bell that was stolen from the 2000 block of Swamp Fox Hwy East in Tabor City. The church bell was removed from a wooden post in a residence’s yard between the dates of March 3 – 5. The antique bell weighs approximately 300 pounds.

A green Ford Ranger was seen near the residence around the time the bell was removed.

“This bell has sentimental value to the owners,” said Sheriff Jody Greene. “We would like to locate it and return it to the rightful owners.”

If you have information about the green Ranger or the bell, call the sheriff’s office at 642.6551. We shared a photo of the bell on our website and Facebook pages.
